Our Treatment Options
Paediatric Conditions
Our paediatric physiotherapist provides specialised physiotherapy treatment for children aged 0–18 years who have difficulty with physical development due to neurological and/or developmental problems. Neurological conditions can result from problems with the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves. Babies and children with neurological conditions may have difficulties with mobility, muscle strength, range of movement and balance. Physiotherapy treatment helps maximise potential and promote physical development to reach milestones (e.g. rolling, crawling, walking). We have extensive experience in conditions including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, developmental disorders, acquired brain injuries, spinal cord diseases and injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, neuromuscular disorders, and orthopaedic conditions such as talipes, torticollis and recovery post fracture. Initial assessment includes development, movement, strength and balance to produce a structured treatment programme which may include stretching, strengthening, re-educating normal movement patterns, balance training, improving standing and walking quality, advice for parents and teachers, milestone development, and fine and gross motor skills. Treatment can be carried out at the clinic, at home or at school. Early intervention is key to maximise your child's potential.
